With its iconic cinnabar-colored great torii, this shrine is linked to the Onokoro Island of the Kuniumi Story. Encircled by the ancient Mihara creek, the shrine has been revered since ancient times, known by the name “Onokorojima.” Legendary sites from the creation myth can still be found in the surrounding area, including Ashihara-koku and Ame-no-Ukihashi.
