20Koyadani Kofun Artifact – Sankakubuchi Shinjukyo

This is the only Sankakubuchi Shinjukyo discovered on Awaji Island. The bronze mirror symbolizes the authority of chieftains in the Kofun period. Mirrors cast from the same mold have been found in other prefectures, including Kyoto and Nara. It is a valuable artifact that indicates that during the Kofun period, when the Ama flourished, a prominent local chieftain with links to the sovereign lived in these lands.
