2Nikkoji Dotaku

Dotaku discovered in the former village of Keino (present-day Matsuhokeino, Minamiawaji City), on the coast overlooking the Harimanada Sea. These artifacts suggest the participation of the Umi-no-tami in a new form of worship in the Yayoi period. Some of the dotaku are rare examples that still have their zetsu (clappers that hang inside the dotaku and produce sound when shaken), a characteristic feature of Awaji Island dotaku.
