19Kidohara Archeological Site and Artifacts
A mid-Kofun period site. The site hints at a deep connection to the Korean Peninsula as it yielded numerous artifacts virtually unknown in most other settlements, including iron ingots for making ironware and Korean-style earthenware. The site and its artifacts allow us to imagine the seafaring skills of the Ama, who traveled between Japan and the Peninsula during the era of the Five Kings of Wa.
