15Hatada Archeological Site Stone Rods
This site has yielded the oldest late Yayoi-period salt-making earthenware discovered on Awaji Island. Also found were slender stone rods, polished and sharpened at both ends, suggesting a deep relationship with the Ama, who were adept with fishing equipment. Located on the coast facing the Harimanada Sea, the site points to a strong link to the sea.
