14Oka-no-tani No. 1 Tomb

The location of this kofun (tumulus), built on high ground and overlooking the Harimanada Sea, suggests a sea-borne link across the sea with the Harima region on the opposite shore. Tatsuyama-ishi stone was used for this iegata sekkan (house-shaped stone coffin) kept in a stone chamber, which can still be viewed by the public at Takataya Kahei Park in Sumoto City.
