This Kofun period salt manufacture ruins has yielded salt-making earthenware. Also discovered at the site is a sekkan (stone coffin), where a salt-making site has been chosen for a burial site. This sekkan (stone coffin) is a small burial facility made by assembling unworked stones, and is possibly the burial site of a chieftain of the Ama, who engaged in salt-making.
