This site has yielded the oldest late Yayoi-period salt-making earthenware discovered on Awaji Island. Also discovered were slender stone rods, polished and sharpened at both ends, which suggests the depth of the relationship with the Ama, adept with fishing equipment. Located on the coast facing the Harimanada Sea, the site points to a strong link to the sea.
