Futatsuishi Ebisu-no-mae Archaelogical Site and Artifacts
One of the mountain settlements that spread rapidly towards the end of the Yayoi period. Discovered at this site are the remains of a facility and tools for the purification of red pigment using mineral cinnabar from Tokushima on Shikoku as the raw material. This site elicits images of the Umi-no-tami in action, carrying these raw materials across the Naruto Strait and engaging in the production and distribution of an important material that was key to understanding the period.
